Ivy Exec surveyed approximately 6,000 top-level professionals from about 250 Executive MBA programmes around the world with 168 making the final list.

For the second straight year, the winner was the Insead Global Executive MBA. According to Ivy Exec, the programme was ranked number one for prestige, career advancement, curriculum, and global experience. It also received the number one spot for the European regional ranking. “One of the distinguishing features of Insead’s EMBA programme is its Leadership Development Programme (LDP), which goes beyond the academic content to help its students develop themselves as the instruments of leadership,” the Ivy Exec ranking states explaining that students are assigned a coach for the duration of their programme, enabling individualised support from seasoned mentors who can appreciate both the personal and professional challenges students might face.

Overall there was little movement in the top 5 programmes  in 2018 except for one notable change – the Wharton MBA for Executives (Philadelphia) jumped three positions from 7th in 2017 to 4th position this year. The other top positions went to The Kellogg Executive MBA Program (2), Chicago Booth Executive MBA (3), and the London Business School Executive MBA (5).

Amongst the top ten programmes were the Columbia Business School Executive MBA (6), the Duke Global Executive MBA (7), the IMD Executive MBA (8), the Berkeley MBA for Executives Program (9) and MIT’s Executive MBA Program (10).

Other standouts from regions were the NYU Stern EMBA Program, the Duke Global EMBA and the Kellogg EMBA Program in the US for example, the NUS Asia Pacific EMBA for Asia and the Oxford Executive MBA for Europe.

In addition to the best EMBA programmes by region, Ivy Exec also ranked the best Global Joint EMBA programmes. The top 5 joint programmes that came out top were:

EMBA-Global Americas and Europe (Columbia University & London Business School)

Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program (Northwestern University & Hong Kong Univ. of Science and Technology)
