AACSB accredits 16 business schools

16 new business schools have been awarded the prestigious accolade from AACSB International. The accreditation is a quality reflection of a business school. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) is one of three international accreditation bodies with Equis and Amba being the other two. The most renowned business schools often achieve accreditation with all three bodies.

Amongst AACSB’s newly accredited institutions are the British Kingston University, Australia's University of Newcastle, and South Africa's GIBS. Taiwan's Chung Hua University as well as Chang Gung University, which offers a full-time MBA programme with specialisations in Design Management and Healthcare Management, were amongst the 16 business schools. Other successful contenders were Portugal's ISCTE Business School, Saudi Arabia’s King Saud University (The school is the fourth in Saudi Arabia to be accredited by AACSB) and Austria's MCI Management Center Innsbruck. China's University of International Business and Economics as well as Nankai University, which offers Chinese-language MBA programmes, Chicago-based Northeastern Illinois University, Nottingham Trent University's Nottingham Business School in the UK, India-based XLRI Jamshedpur, Japan's Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Sweden's University of Gothenburg and Malaysia's Universiti Utara Malaysia also achieved the accreditation.

Some of these schools had already been accredited by Amba or Equis and added the AACSB accreditation as an additional sign of their high standards of management education.

Overall AACSB now accredits 777 institutions in 52 countries.
